It’s not a good time to be a free agent running back, even an accomplished one.
But longtime Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew has some suitors, and is going to see one of them.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jones-Drew is visiting the Steelers today, and has other teams interested.
The Steelers don’t have much of note in the backfield other than Le’Veon Bell, and Jones-Drew would give them a solid 1-2 punch of backs.
The Jaguars haven’t shown much interest in retaining Jones-Drew, who is as much of a face-of-the-franchise type player as they’ve had in the last decade. There were early indications they’d be willing to have him back, but that hasn’t turned into anything tangible.
