Antoine Cason visiting corner-needy Panthers tonight

We mentioned yesterday a report that veteran cornerback Antoine Cason was expected to sign with the Panthers.

It’ll be easier if he chooses to tonight, since he’ll be there.

A league source tells PFT’s Mike Florio that Cason is visiting the Panthers tonight.

The fit is a natural one, as Cason has experience playing for Panthers coach Ron Rivera when he was defensive coordinator in San Diego.

Cason barely played defense last year, but could fill in nicely for the Panthers, who are shorter on corners than they are on wide receivers.

San Diego let this guy go and they need corners so bad that if he was worth a bag of chips they would have kept him. Signs with Arizona and they let him walk…..good luck Panthers…this guy sucks

He played well under Rivera in San Diego. With Carolina’s front 7, he’ll look better than he actually is, get a big contract on some mediocre team and ruin their salary cap.
