Greg McElroy was apparently the last one to realize he was retired, so he made it official.
The former Alabama quarterback, who was officially on the Bengals roster, just posted a message on Twitter saying he was done with the NFL.
Of course, the NFL was effectively done with him, as his 31 pass attempts in two games with the Jets in 2012 represented his game action.
His most relevant NFL contribution was pulling back the curtain on some of the Jets dysfunction after the 2011 season, when the rookie seventh-rounder declared the locker room to be full of “extremely selfish individuals.”
Now he can continue to share such wisdom, and go back to the retirement we assumed he had already begun.
