The Lions have re-signed a defensive lineman with ample experience with Detroit.

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports the club has reached a deal with reserve defensive tackle Andre Fluellen, who played 13 games with the Lions in 2013.

A third-round pick of Detroit in 2008, the 29-year-old Fluellen has appeared in 69 regular season games, recording 55 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

The Lions re-signed Fluellen in July 2013 after he had a short stint with Chicago. The Lions released Fluellen in August 2013, then re-signed him on September 23 after Jason Jones suffered a season-ending injury.

Sure would be nice to find somebody that wants to trade for Jason Jones so he doesn’t take too many reps from Devin Taylor or another young prospect that might get drafted this year.

Added depth is always good but they really need depth at defensive end. The Lions also need to get some starters in the defensive backfield so that one day PFT can write an article about how the team added depth players at corner and safety. Right now they have dearth and no depth.
