It seemed all but a formality that safety James Ihedigbo would end up with the Detroit Lions after visiting the team earlier this month.

The deal now is apparently done.

Ihedigbo tweeted that he has agreed to a contract with the Lions. Per Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, it’s a two-year deal for Ihedigbo.

The move will reunited Ihedigbo with Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, who served as Ihedigbo’s position coach with the Ravens the past two seasons.

Ihedigbo started all 16 games for the Ravens last season and put together his best season as a pro. Ihedigbo racked up 101 tackles with three interceptions and two forced fumbles.

The signing of Ihedigbo gives the Lions a proven veteran option in the back-end of their defense that is already familiar with Austin and the defense he’ll run in Detroit.
