Free-agent defensive end Jared Allen planned to take the weekend to make a decision regarding his future.
If a decision has been made, it’s yet to be announced or leaked.
The options appear to be: (1) signing with the Seahawks; (2) signing with the Cowboys or someone else; (3) retiring; or (4) doing nothing.
The other alternative would be to wait until later in the offseason, possibly as late as August. Which would make sense if the offers aren’t at the level where they need to be.
In Seattle, it’s likely that the offer isn’t where Allen wants it to be. As best we can tell, the Seahawks have a number that fits with their cap situation, and they’re not moving off it.
If Allen isn’t moving below where he wants to be, the ultimate decision could be to call it a career. Unless he wants to add a Super Bowl appearance and possible victory to the career he already has had.
