Pat White joins Edmonton Eskimos

Pat White could be headed to the Canadian Football League.

White, the former Redskins and Dolphins quarterback, has signed with the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos, the club said Thursday.

White, 28, was released by the Redskins on September 14. In four preseason games with Washington, White completed 28-of-50 passes for 330 yards with two interceptions. He also rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries.

White had been out of the NFL since 2010 when the Redskins signed him last April. He was a second-round pick of Miami in 2009.

White is one of five quarterbacks on the Eskimos’ roster. Mike Reilly, who had stints with the Steelers, Packers and Rams in his NFL career, was Edmonton’s starter last season.

Absolutely awesome the Canadian football league just a little more wide open that was already! Left-handed Warren Moon eh! Now my only hope is that Jerrod Johnson should he ever be released by Chicago will find his way to the CFL with either MontrĂ©al or better yet the new Ottawa franchise. Don’t be surprised if you see Jim Popp pull a rabbit out of his hat, and sign Vince young!

    LOL! What a Journeyman!

I can absolutely remember all the comments from Skins Fans about how great a signing this was last year to get him. How did that work out for ya? Yeah, about the same as the Dolphins. He won’t even make Canadian Roster

If he can’t get it done in 4 downs, what makes you think he can do it in 3?

So has he rejoined the concussion lawsuit yet?

Change the name, Eskimo is a racial slur and offensive.

Guess his concussions weren’t THAT bad, eh?

Still one of the worst draft picks in Dolphins history.

I find it hard to believe this guy is worse than cousins.

He’s horrible, that’s about where he should, out of the NFL.

Guess this low life will be suing the Canadian football league for concussions also! Playa gotta get paid homie!!!

Its lazy money grabbing trash like this that make it harder for the guys with the real brain injuries in the NFL get the help they need. Cause Pat White wants a chunk of that cash too ya dig!!!

Honestly though why does Vince young not do this?? I don’t know much about the Canadian league so maybe his skill set doesn’t fit but I would think playing in Canada would beat sitting on your coach broke

How dare you use the Edmonton E*****s name like that? So offensive.

    Canada doesn’t want this yank.

Here’s a guy who loves playing football. He’d rather go play where he won’t make great money or accolades instead of sitting home spending his NFL money doing nothing.

Wow – haters in the house! But I’ve never had to suffer with him on my fave team.

Anyway, I hope he pulls a Doug Flutie up in Canada.

Tebow, Vince Young, and JaMarcus Russell should all be trying to give it a go up there … assuming they could get signed. It’s always interesting to see who *can’t* get signed in Canada.

I’m glad to see White not giving up on his dream. He knows that if he’s ever going to get a chance in the NFL again, he’s got to get better at playing QB. To do that, he’s got to play football, and the CFL is the only option left for him.

Honestly, there are several young ex-NFL QBs who should be following his lead, including Tim Tebow.

    Good luck Pat!

I guess this proves in addition to many other acquisitions that Bill Parcells and Jeff Ireland were clueless regarding the recruitment of NFL talent for the Miami Dolphins.
