Safety Danieal Manning wasn’t too upset when the Texans released him on Monday and part of the reason for that may be the quick signs from other teams of interest in his services.

As reported late Monday night, Manning is visiting the Bengals on Tuesday and, barring agreement on a contract, he’ll follow that up with a trip to visit with another 2013 AFC playoff squad. During an appearance on Sirius XM NFL Radio with Rich Gannon and Bruce Murray, Manning said that he’s scheduled to travel to Kansas City to meet with the Chiefs on Thursday.

The Chiefs have a hole next to Eric Berry at safety after watching Kendrick Lewis sign in Houston that Manning could fill if he winds up on their roster. Manning started every game he’s played for the Bears and Texans over the last three seasons, but missed 10 games last season because of injury. It would still be a spot for the Chiefs to look to bolster in the draft, but the need to find an immediate starter would be lessened if Manning comes aboard.

Manning also said during the interview that it would be fun to play for the Cowboys after rooting for them while he was growing up, but there’s no sign that Dallas is in the mix with the two AFC clubs.
