Dolphins to visit with Jason Fox

The Dolphins signed Branden Albert to be their left tackle in 2014, but the question of who will start at right tackle remains unsettled.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins will soon visit with a potential candidate for the job. Salguero reports that Jason Fox, who went to college at the University of Miami, will meet with the team.

Fox visited with the Chiefs earlier this week as he tries to find a home after spending the last four seasons with the Lions, who drafted him in the fourth round of the 2010 draft. Fox started three games for Detroit last season, the only starts of his NFL career, and battled injuries throughout his time with the team.

With Albert and Shelley Smith signed, the Dolphins have made some moves toward building a more effective offensive line after last year’s unit imploded on and off the field. Fox could be another piece in that plan, whether he winds up as a starter or providing depth once the regular season rolls around.
