The Raiders have re-signed running back Jeremy Stewart, an exclusive rights free agent.

The transaction was disclosed by the NFL on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old Stewart played 13 games for the Raiders in 2013, scoring a rushing touchdown against Philadelphia and recovering a blocked punt for a touchdown against Washington.

As was the case a season ago, Stewart will contend for a backup spot on offense and a contributing role on special teams.

A Stanford product, Stewart signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent in May 2012. He also had a brief stay with the Jets in 2012 before joining Oakland on Sept. 3, 2012.

I’m ready for the draft. Khalil Mack to the Silver and Black! If they don’t go that option trading back for Mike Evans getting some picks along the way. Options options..👌

He went to Stanford. He is smart. Smarter than Richard Sherman and Doug Baldwin.

I love what the brass has done so far. I’m even seeing on NFL am about superbowl bound, they did this, they did that. This is the most I’ve heard about the raiders on NFL am than ever! I love it! I can die happy now. Please make sure that DMC makes it to my funeral, cause he’s been my favorite player, and I know he is going to have a huge comeback year. If I’m not around tell McFadden for making it exciting, and please run all over these teams this year! Raider nation baby!!!!!

Good signing he’s young with experience and has held his own.
