The Raiders have re-signed running back Jeremy Stewart, an exclusive rights free agent.

The transaction was disclosed by the NFL on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old Stewart played 13 games for the Raiders in 2013, scoring a rushing touchdown against Philadelphia and recovering a blocked punt for a touchdown against Washington.

As was the case a season ago, Stewart will contend for a backup spot on offense and a contributing role on special teams.

A Stanford product, Stewart signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent in May 2012. He also had a brief stay with the Jets in 2012 before joining Oakland on Sept. 3, 2012.
