Falcons won’t be bringing Chase Coffman back

The Falcons don’t know at the moment how they’ll replace Tony Gonzalez, but they’ve apparently decided how they won’t.

Free agent tight end Chase Coffman just tweeted out word that the Falcons won’t offer him a contract to come back, graciously thanking the team for their time.

The former third-round pick of the Bengals played in 11 games for the Falcons last year, and didn’t catch a pass. He has four career receptions.

That leaves last year’s fourth-rounder Levine Toilolo as the tight end of note on their roster at the moment.

Still don’t know why we ever drafted him. He can’t block, doesn’t run clear routes, and drops everything..

I bet the Cowgirls wish they didn’t cut Scott Chandler now…he had 1 career reception before coming to Buffalo…now he is a quality tight end, in the top half of the league…and he was in a position just like Coffman, at about the same age.

Coffman is Chandler’s size, and he has the pedigree…I’d take a flier on him definitely.

    How could it hurt, right?

Coffman balled for Mizzou; he was a force. Got hurt. Quote Joaquin Andujar: “Youneverknow.”

I thought he’d be a quality pass catching tight end coming out of college. Clearly I was wrong.
