Miami tackle Seantrel Henderson can’t finish workout

Seantrel Henderson, Jonotthan Harrison AP

While there are various reports about what happened, the draft prospects of Miami tackle Seantrel Henderson did not get better today at his pro day workout.

While ESPN’s Chris Mortensen said Henderson “quit” through drills and “didn’t help himself,” his agent disputes that claim.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, agent David Levine said Henderson cut his day short because he was “dehydrated and felt sick.”

The agent said Henderson met with Giants General Manager Jerry Reese afterward, along with several offensive line coaches.

Henderson’s a talented player, with prototype size athleticism. But he was inconsistent in college, and his three suspensions at Miami (including one for marijuana use) create plenty of red flags.

    Sad.

    miami football is a joke.

No wonder miami and sec teams don’t play north of Knoxville after October.

They can’t handle any weather other than 50-78 degrees.

Henderson was the number one high school recruit in the country and never lived up to expectations. I don’t think I would risk a day two draft pick on this guy.

That’s a question from the Wonderlic, right?

How do you keep yourself from getting severely dehydrated?

  4. thegreatgabbert says: Apr 3, 2014 4:13 PM

He didn’t quit, he just cut his day short.

    Oh! The dreaded marijuana use.

“We’d be interested. But only if you were ARRESTED for marijuana. Getting suspended just isn’t enough dedication for us.”

Hopefully Reese met with him to say “We will not be drafting you”.

Worst decision this guy made was choosing USC over tOSU.

Left USC after one year, went to UM. One failed program for another. Not that tOSU is a model citizen, but their recent track record exceeds these two institutions.

Everyone had problems with Vontaze Burdict, Kiko Alonso and Cordy Glenn…

    How did that work out?

    Who cares about pro-days/combines?

I remember similar things being said about Vontaze Burfict.

I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as people think. He just needs to mature. However it’s concerning that an athlete isn’t smart enough to prepare fort this kind of day or that he is an excuse maker, which a lot of kids do. People were saying he did pretty well in the drills he did do.

Not the first time he can’t finish something. Just ask USC about that…

When you are an athlete and you know you are going to be put through a workout, how do you let yourself become dehydrated? Being sick is one thing, but when your entire future rides on how you perform in a 10 minute drill, how do you let hydration skip your mind? Now that is a major red flag in itself.

Biggest waste of talent since Willie Williams at the U. Al Folden sure can motivate his players.

Seantrel was the most sought after player in his class. We here in Minnesota where he played High School Football wanted him so bad to stay in state even though we knew the Gophers had no shot. The hype on this guy before college was two years in the making. I laugh now because of the college career he had after what we always kept hearing and reading for years here in Minny. All the talent in the world but no drive. Hmmmmmm…reminds me of another Hurricane bust that played for us but only in the Pros, Bryant McKinney. Go ” The U”…lol

Raiders will take him in the mid rounds and he’ll be a steal after they call in THE GREAT ARTHUR SHELL to straighten his butt out.

Kid went to Cretin in high school. The same school as Joe Mauer, Michael Floyd, Matt Birk, Paul Molitor and Chris Weinke. To all of you who would pass on him we thank you. Vikes will take him in the 4th.

At the time I was ticked, but ultimately I’m glad he didn’t end up at USC.

  31. anonymous135 says: Apr 3, 2014 9:02 PM

Hopefully being a 3 day draft pick or udfa will somehow put a chip on his shoulder and start him on the road to his unfulfilled potential…

    Undrafted free agent.
