Nate Burleson has trip to see Browns on tap

Nate Burleson AP

If Nate Burleson can make this delivery in 30 minutes or less, he really is a pro.

According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, the former Lions receiver is scheduled to visit the Browns Saturday.

He’s visiting the Dolphins first, as he looks for work. His last two seasons in Detroit were marred by injury, missing 17 games the last two seasons, including a pizza-protecting broken arm.

On the surface, he makes more sense in Cleveland, as the Dolphins are deeper at wide receiver.

With the Browns, his presence alone would help Josh Gordon and rookie quarterback TBA with a little maturity and balance.

The only picture you could find of Burleson was at the Bills Stadium?

He could be pretty good for Cleveland, if he doesn’t get in any car accidents.

    Is he driving there?

Please don’t talk/text and eat pizza while driving down to Cleveland.

He is a solid #2 to go with Josh Gordon, but they still need a guy in the draft who could be a #1 in case Gordon takes a toke and is banned for the year.

Hence Watkins is still the #4 pick in the draft.

Better put it in his contract that he has to have pizza delivered to him. No more pizza related accidents please.

I’ll take Burleson over Little any day.

  9. doctorrustbelt says: Apr 3, 2014 4:14 PM

Sure… burleson is an improvement over Little and Bess… but… that is only due to Little and Bess being absolutely terrible.

    Oh…. I forgot…. it’s ALLLLLLLLLL Brandon Weeden’s fault.

Solid #2 wide receivers average more than 9 starts per season.

nate burleson has averaged 8.5 starts per season over the past six seasons.

nate has averaged only 9.8 games per season over the past six seasons.

He’d be good in Cleveland. If we get Sammy Watkins that’d be a helluva top 4WR:

    Josh Gordon
    Sammy Watkins
    Nate Burleson
    Andrew Hawkins

    Speed AND hands

    Browns on tap?

    A Lager?

Nate should not sign in any town that serves pizza good enough to wreck a car for.

Hopefully, he does sign with the Browns, a nice veteran presence to mentor Gordon, and whomever they draft. Didn’t realize he actually broke and arm saving a falling pizza, great reaction time, from catching footballs. Similarly, I had an ex that broke her nose while trying to save a falling Italian sausage while I was driving. So these things do happen remarkably.
