RGIII says he’s still wearing No. 10

Among the questions that wide receiver DeSean Jackson faced during a Wednesday conference call formally introducing him as a member of the Redskins was one about what jersey number he’d be wearing in 2014.

Jackson wore No. 10 with the Eagles, a number that’s been on quarterback Robert Griffin III’s back since he joined the Redskins in 2012, and told reporters that nothing had been decided about who would be wearing the digits with the Redskins next season. It seemed like a bit of denial on Jackson’s part as starting quarterbacks who sell a lot of jerseys rarely shift their numbers after a new player joins the team and Griffin confirmed later in the day that he’ll be wearing the same number he wore in his first two seasons.

Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that wide receiver Aldrick Robinson tweeted that he’d be switching from No. 11 to No. 15 for the coming season, but said it was “too early” to say whether Jackson would be taking over his old digits. The Redskins, meanwhile, have started selling Jackson jerseys on their website with the note that his number will be determined at some point in the future.

Jackson’s agent demands a new contract.

RG3 currently runs that team. Find a new number DeSean.

They should race for it. Think of the money they could raise

Maybe they can share and both wear 5?

The problem with moving, is that the cause of the problems usually moves with you.

Can’t wait for Jackson’s response to this.

Meet the new boss…. Same as the old boss

  11. johnnyjagfan says: Apr 3, 2014 11:18 AM

The only number DeSean cares about is the one on the paycheck.

  12. barneyrumble says: Apr 3, 2014 11:20 AM

    New team, same attitude.
Why didn’t Jackson just say ‘I am here to play football and the number I wear is of very little significance compared to winning games and ultimately the Super Bowl?’
Richard Sherman can call Jackson’s release racism if he wants, but it is appearing the release is based on simple immaturity and an over abundance of self-importance. Glad he is with the Washington D.C team.

It’s the logo on the helmet that you should be playing for, not the name or number on the back.

We’re glad he’s in DC as well. Hail!

is that his jersey number or the spot in the draft they’ll be picking at for the next 10 years?

  16. petstarship says: Apr 3, 2014 1:11 PM

I heard Colt McCoy will be wearing 10

Redskin locker room not big enough for two divas. Could be an interesting year.

  18. patslaya says: Apr 3, 2014 1:22 PM

Fans everywhere please calm down? I don’t think fans everywhere care enough to get excited about whether or not you are going to change your number DB3.

  19. richardmswartz says: Apr 3, 2014 1:40 PM

The fact he didn’t just say that was RG3′s is a small indication of the reason why the Eagles dumped him. Still though, he’s merely annoying, not a trouble maker. He’ll be fine as a second option and the only reason why this is interesting at all is because it doesn’t seem the Washington team has a strong locker room to begin with.

  20. sirthorazine says: Apr 3, 2014 1:41 PM

DeSean should be more likely concerned with the color he’ll be wearing than the number

  21. malab377 says: Apr 3, 2014 2:16 PM

Skins are selling Jackson jerseys with #11 to #15. Then, he will take #10, so they will sell more jerseys. RGIII will take another number (more jerseys).

And only then, they will change the name/logo of the team to be politically correct. And of course, sell more jerseys.

    ‘merica!

  22. randomguy9999 says: Apr 3, 2014 2:27 PM

RGme will get his way because he basically owns the team now…. then there will be the battle of prima donnas for attention

  23. ilovefoolsball says: Apr 3, 2014 2:40 PM

Jackson said he wants to play quarterback so he can wear #10.

  24. dctillidie says: Apr 3, 2014 3:06 PM

Who cares? It’s just a stupid number. DJax is taking 11. No need for all this drama people!

  25. theclink12 says: Apr 3, 2014 3:26 PM

As usual the Redskins are making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

    New year…same crappy organization.

  26. kosarkid says: Apr 3, 2014 3:28 PM

Might as well let DJAx have it. He has the higher odds of playing all 16 games this year.

  27. ashure71 says: Apr 3, 2014 3:30 PM

    You guys are so smart.

  28. skinsdiehard says: Apr 3, 2014 3:42 PM

The media is making this a big deal, not the players. There is no rift or animosity between the players. And, no, RG3 does not own the team. It’s funny how haters comment on our locker room when they only know 2 players in that locker room.

  29. chuckh13 says: Apr 3, 2014 3:43 PM

Ha ha these 2 will not be a good mix there all about themselves

  30. johnodocks says: Apr 3, 2014 3:49 PM

Just truncate the zero off the 10, Desean. Everyone knows you’re Number 1.

  31. rg3andthensome says: Apr 3, 2014 4:07 PM

    As he should!

  32. raidersownyou says: Apr 3, 2014 5:37 PM

    DeSean might throw a fit.
