Redskins part ways with three

Getty Images

The Redskins have added several players this week.  And with new arrivals often come fresh departures.

The team has announced that receiver Josh Bellamy has been waived.  For now, he’s the obvious odd man out after the arrival of DeSean Jackson.  Jackson’s presence ultimately could force some hard choices when setting the 53-man roster, possibly up to and including the release of veteran wideout Santana Moss.

Also dumped were linebacker Josh Hull and cornerback Ryan Mouton.

As vested veterans, Hull and Mouton immediately become free agents.  Bellamy will be subject to waivers.

Wow I didn’t even realize those three guys were on the roster.

As a Redskins fan …….never heard of them and why is Steven Bowen still on the roster

Any contending team should bring in Moss for some depth or maybe even as a WR3

  4. slaugin says: Apr 5, 2014 9:21 PM

Moss is an excellent intermediate guy, unless it’s a money thing I don see why they would want to dump him

  5. slaugin says: Apr 5, 2014 9:22 PM

RG3 with Jachson, Garçon, and Moss will define him…Good or bad

    Liked Bellamy.

If Santana Moss were released, I’m pretty sure logicalvoicesays would have to be on suicide watch.

  9. cmehustle says: Apr 5, 2014 9:47 PM

D Jacc, Garcon, Andre Roberts who everyone forgot already signed a big deal before the Jacc signing, Aldrick Robinson, Nick Williams, and maybe even a young guy in the draft, hopefully someone with height. Read the tea leaves Santana had his last days with us already

Redskins should release Moss so he can go sign with the Eagles.

  11. cmehustle says: Apr 5, 2014 9:58 PM

Leonard Hankerson too. Almost forgot about him.

My bad I meant not “D Jacc.” Where’d you find that second c anyway.

I would say dumping any members of that awful secondary, was probably a good move.

  14. montrizzy says: Apr 5, 2014 10:36 PM

Some people forget that secondary has a job to maybe dumping people on the horrible may bring even mor life to the redskins anybody could get hurt on the starting lineup nobody wanst to see sorry people in the starting lineup I would want to see decent people instead of sorry

Cowboys fans should not talk about the Skins defense because their defense was historically awful.

  16. defscottyb says: Apr 5, 2014 10:46 PM

Don’t get rid off Moss! He is still very good.

  17. tcorn6 says: Apr 5, 2014 11:17 PM

Darn I really like Josh Hull. Used to eat lunch with him up in State College a few days a week. Hope he finds another spot somewhere and can atleast compete for a depth role.

  18. jsbrasha says: Apr 5, 2014 11:50 PM

The team gets a much larger cap break by cutting Bowen (and Moss?) after June 1. Don’t expect anything until then.

  19. jbowman374 says: Apr 6, 2014 12:02 AM

Aw, I’m gonna miss Santana spinning that ball after a spectacular 3 yard catch!

  20. antoni27 says: Apr 6, 2014 1:41 AM

I would release nick williams before I ever release moss.. still one of the most dependable sure hand reciever I kno.. might not be as fast but fast enough and still gest the job done..Httr

Moss want a chance to mentor and to try to win One. NE Maybe?

  22. tgunnz says: Apr 6, 2014 8:57 AM

Hull was our top special teams tackler… 11th in the NFL

  23. perryboy1 says: Apr 6, 2014 10:03 AM

“Santana Moss has lost a step over the years be he can still ball!”🏈

  24. grimreaper12 says: Apr 6, 2014 10:31 AM

Santana Moss can go to another team and be their Steve Smith. He still has something left in the tank.

  25. mac7163 says: Apr 6, 2014 11:39 PM

I would still draft a wr . Jordan Matthews or Devonte Adams please. With this core they can grow and develop in case we loose one due to injury and in the future be that replacement . The draft is to deep with good wide outs not to select one.

  26. rcjur says: Apr 10, 2014 3:12 PM

Forget Moss, Williams and Hank. After Garcon, Jackson and Roberts if Coach Gurden and WR Coach were smart their WR depth should be resigning Briscoe to go with Robinson and Gettis.

2014 WR’s Garcon, Jackson, Robers, Briscoe, Robinson and Gettis.
