Report: Falcons sign CB Josh Wilson

The Falcons have added some experience at cornerback.

According to Chick Hernandez of Comcast SportsNet, Redskins corner Josh Wilson has reached a one-year deal with Atlanta.

The 29-year-old Wilson has started every game in the last three seasons for Washington. He recorded a career-best 93 tackles in 2013.

Wilson, who’s intercepted 14 passes and made 81 starts in seven NFL seasons, joins an Atlanta secondary with second-year cornerbacks Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford in key roles. The Falcons also have Robert McClain and Javier Arenas at corner.

Before joining Washington in 2011, the 5-foot-9, 188-pound Wilson played for Seattle (2007-2009) and Baltimore (2010). He was Seattle’s second-round pick in 2007.

93 tackles for a corner? Maybe he can play free safety for us.

    That’s laughable.

Played great for the Ravens. For the Redskins he was just a slower version of Deangelo Hall. Gets picks now and then but loves getting beat and cant tackle. hopefully he will improve for ATL.

If the secondary needy skins let him go…

If you’re short on CBs, and sign Josh Wilson….you’re still short at CB.

14 picks in seven seasons? You’ve got to be kidding. Richard Sherman has 20 in 2 and a half seasons.

Although I have to admit Josh had almost twice as many tackles as Sherman this past season. Something like 92 to 49. So umm yeah, that’s what I want my DB’s to be doing…making tackles after the WR’s caught the ball.

Sorry but Josh, while being a great athlete and good person, isn’t a signing to brag about.

The Falcons picked him up because he is really good at making mean faces at the other team when they tackle the QB a little rough. That has to be true because he certainly is too small and slow to actually play CB in the NFL. Ask the DC Eleven.

Good luck Josh, I enjoyed watching you play.

Youtubegrave that’s hilarious. You can say whatever you want but saying he can’t tackle is asinine. A cb that had 93 tackles last season obviously could at the very least tackle. He didn’t accidentally trip 93 ppl up.

he’s not a bad tackler and he had moments, now the negatives. LOTS of pass interferences on him, he needs to turn around when the ball is throw, too many times i saw pass interference on Wilson. he also got toasted a few times. he’s a gambler at corner. maybe he plays better in Atlanta.

Ill take it. He cant be much worse than Asante Samuel was last year! Trufant & Alford are our future at DB throw in Wilson, McClain & Arenas for experience and im happy with it! Trufant is a star in the making! Its in his blood! Im sure all ou Seattle fans remember what his brother Marcus did for yall for what, 7-8 years?
