Lions claim Kourtnei Brown off waivers

Defensive end Kournei Brown lost his job with the Bills on Thursday, but he wasn’t out of work long.

The Lions have claimed Brown off of waivers and added him to their roster. That means they’ll be the next team that Brown hopes to impress enough to get a spot on the 46-man roster for a regular season game.

Brown was with the Bills in training camp last season, but was cut before the regular season started and signed to a reserve/future contract when it came to an end. His departure came shortly after the Bills added veteran Jarius Wynn to their defensive line.

Brown has also spent time with the 49ers and Redskins since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson in 2012. He may wind up being roster filler in Detroit as well, but will have the rest of the offseason to show that he’s worth a longer look.

Another guy who played with Sammy Watkins? This is getting to be too much.

He didn’t play with Sammy Watkins.

He did seem to have some decent potential based on all the training camp practices I went to last year…he has a big body (6-5, 250)…but he is not consistent enough.

Hopefully he can turn it around in Detroit.

“He didn’t play with Sammy Watkins.”

Yes he did, he played his final season in Watkins freshman season.

He went from the 3rd worst city in the country to the 2nd. If Camden ever gets a team he better have his bags packed.

This team is willing to sign anyone. I can’t wait until the miss playoffs again.

3rd worst city based on what facts exactly? Having spent a lot of time in buffalo and other cities I can tell you that your statement is very untrue. If you say third worst sports city, I, unfortunately might agree. Outside of that Buffalo is a great city and very underrated because of their sports teams.

3rd and 2nd worst cities in the country? Gary, Indiana would like a word with you.

I hope he is smarter than that picture makes him look. OTOH he’s not exactly a household name so I imagine pics of him are pretty scarce.
