Report: Falcons to host Jake Matthews

A club in need of offensive line help selecting early in May’s draft will reportedly host one of the top offensive tackle prospects on a visit.

According to Vaughn McClure of, the Falcons will meet with Texas A&M tackle Jake Matthews during the week of April 21.

The son of Hall of Fame offensive lineman Bruce Matthews, Jake Matthews played both right and left tackle for the Aggies. The 22-year-old Matthews earned a variety of first-team All-American honors both as a junior and as a senior.

Jake Matthews would be the #1 tackle drafted in the last draft.

But regardless, his upside isn’t that great.

If Khalil Mack, Clowney, and Greg Robinson are off the board I would just trade back because Jake Mathews isnt a top 10 talent IMO hes a top 20 but I would just trade back and get more depth because this team has some severe depth problems.

If you’re drafted #6 overall you will play left tackle. No getting their feet wet on the easy side.

Would make sense to trade down and get Taylor Lewan. Still getting a solid tackle and maybe a few more picks
