The quarterback position unexpectedly became a focal point for the Giants over the last week.

Eli Manning had ankle surgery, a report surfaced about some concerns about Manning for the long term and others had the Giants interested in free agents Matt Flynn and Josh Freeman as additions to the depth chart. It looks like the Giants will be getting a first-hand look at both players on Tuesday.

Kim Jones of NFL Network reports that both Flynn and Freeman will be working out for the team as they try to find another arm to go with Ryan Nassib and Curtis Painter while Manning is recovering from surgery this offseason. Nassib is almost certain to be on the roster after being drafted last year, which would likely lead to either Freeman or Flynn battling Painter to convince the Giants to keep them as a third member of the depth chart.

Flynn knows Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo from Green Bay, which could be of interest to the Giants as they install McAdoo’s offensive concepts this offseason.
