Pittsburgh’s Aaron Donald visits Cowboys

The Cowboys have already made one impact signing at defensive tackle, but they might be looking for another.

According to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News, Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald was among the visitors to the Cowboys complex Monday.

Donald’s one of the most explosive linemen in this draft, inside or out. He ran a 4.68 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine (at 285 pounds), making him the interior equivalent of Jadeveon Clowney.

The Cowboys might not have enough ammunition to get him picking 16th, but he’d be an intriguing add to a defense that sorely needs him.

The Cowboys signed former Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton this offseason. Like Donald, he plays the three-technique tackle position which is essential in coordinator Rod Marinelli’s system.

But Melton’s presence doesn’t mean they’d pass on Donald, just that they might finally have some line depth.

Donald won’t make it to 16. The Bears pick him at 14.
    Sorry, Jerrah.

If the Boys want Donald they’ll need to trade up to at least 13 cause the Bears are at 14 and he is exactly the type of player Phil Emery likes and at a position of critical need for them.

No matter how many new players the Cowboys add this offseason they still won’t be able to stop RG3, Alfred Morris, DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon. HTTR.

He won’t be there at 19 so they would have to move up pretty far up which isn’t far fetched of that “GM”

Donald would be an excellent fit on the Cowboys defensive line under Marinelli, and there is no way they can pass on him. The question is will he still be on the board at 16 when Dallas picks?

The Bears or Giants could select him prior to 16.

I’m just afraid if we don’t get him at 16, or without trading away too much to move up, Jerry is going to screw up the draft…again.
