Report: Hernandez investigated for threatening to kill jail guard

When it comes to his various legal challenges, former Patriots right end Aaron Hernandez keeps adding new ones instead of resolving old ones.

According to TMZ, Hernandez is being investigated for allegedly threatening to shoot and kill a guard at the Bristol County Jail.  The threat allegedly was made in late 2013.

Hernandez has been imprisoned without bail since June 2013 for allegedly killing Odin Lloyd.

Per the report, investigators have met with another inmate to discuss the allegations.  The inmate was reportedly asked whether he heard Hernandez threaten to “kill the guard and shoot his family” once Hernandez is out of jail, or if Hernandez ever made noises similar to the sound of a machine gun at the guard.

The inmate said Hernandez never threatened the guard.  Which of course means the inmate now won’t have to worry about being shot by Hernandez when Hernandez gets out of jail.

If, of course, Hernandez ever gets out of jail.

Earlier this year, Hernandez was involved in an altercation with another inmate at the jail.  He faces assault charges, and he was placed in isolation for 30 days.

  9. cooklynn17 says: Apr 15, 2014 4:37 PM

And then the guard laughed in his face and ate a nice steak dinner with all the trimmings in front of him.

Sometimes it takes a guy a while to find a place that bests fits his talents. It sounds like Hernandez has found his.

  15. grogansheroes says: Apr 15, 2014 4:40 PM

I guess old Aaron figures he isn’t in enough trouble.

Lock him up and throw away the key. Guilty as O.J.

  19. DaveKShape says: Apr 15, 2014 4:41 PM

Custom-built for both the football field and prison life. Unfortunately it seems he chose the wrong side.

  20. dietrich43 says: Apr 15, 2014 4:42 PM

It’d be horribly ironic if he skates on the murder charges but ends up staying in prison for what he does there.

  21. tonyzendejas says: Apr 15, 2014 4:42 PM

He always wanted to be a felon when he grew up. It’s nice to see young men fulfilling their dreams.

  22. kriswd40 says: Apr 15, 2014 4:42 PM

I think he might beat the murder charge but the weapons charges and behavior like this will ensure he goes away for a long, long time.

  23. ialwayswantedtobeabanker says: Apr 15, 2014 4:43 PM

Hard to blame Hernandez here. I’d have a short fuse too if I’d just kissed away a life as a 23 year old highly revered athlete, considered attractive by females, played for an elite flagship NFL franchise with a Hall of Fame bound quarterback, and had $45,000,000.00 in the bank.

    Goodbye good life.

Hello, three hots and a cot.

    All over what?

    What a tool.

  24. fightteamdotcom says: Apr 15, 2014 4:43 PM

    This guy:

    A.) Has no thought-to-mouth filter
B.) Doesn’t know when to stop
C.) Likes digging his own grave
    D.) All of the above

  25. tedmurph says: Apr 15, 2014 4:43 PM

I would rather Charlie Manson were freed than this guy. The gun charges look solid, but I’m not sure they have a great murder case at this point. Not talking common sense, but evidence.

  26. isphet71 says: Apr 15, 2014 4:44 PM

I don’t think this guy is ever going to understand what it means to be civil. He’s not fit to live in modern society.

  27. primantibrothersgavemefoodpoisoning says: Apr 15, 2014 4:44 PM

Hope I never run into him if I go to prison.

  28. touchdownroddywhite says: Apr 15, 2014 4:44 PM

    This guy is incorrigible…

  29. mrpickelz says: Apr 15, 2014 4:44 PM

You kind of hope it’s not true but at the same time you think, “really man?”

  30. CKL says: Apr 15, 2014 4:44 PM

Let me be the moron: the only place that shouldn’t have 24/7 surveillance with audio in a jail is nowhere. That way no one has to rat on anyone else (so no one has to worry about their back when they get out of jail), they look at and listen to the tape. At one company where I worked the only place minus cameras (no audio though) were the restrooms and we weren’t even criminals.

  31. daytonaken says: Apr 15, 2014 4:48 PM

    I’d watch that TV movie!

  36. vdogg says: Apr 15, 2014 4:54 PM

I think its about time to stop reporting on this turd. He is not a football player any longer and has no chance of ever even be allowed to think he might be again….move on….

  37. jhutch02 says: Apr 15, 2014 4:55 PM

He’s a real tough guy when he’s not in general population. He’s been in jail for almost a year but has spent no time with other inmates other then a drive by beating he did on the other inmate, no pun intended. Once he’s convicted and gets out with the real tough guys, he’ll either learn to shut his mouth or end up assuming room temperature.

  38. mogogo1 says: Apr 15, 2014 5:00 PM

How did he keep this side hidden from so many for so long? Hard to believe there weren’t teammates who were scared to death of him.

  39. restorativejusticeprogram says: Apr 15, 2014 5:22 PM

Reports are that the guard was trying to extort Hernandez by saying he would file a false report until he was paid a large sum of money. Hernandez did not pay and the false report was filed. Jail guards are even worse human being than Hernandez.

  40. nopepper123 says: Apr 15, 2014 5:29 PM

As a Bengals fan I’m salavating at the thought of a 2 Tight End set of Hernandez and Eifert as we would surely be the team to take the chance on him if he ever got out……..

  41. bennyb82 says: Apr 15, 2014 5:38 PM

He also said he plans on playing in the NFL right after he takes care of the guard.

  42. ilovefoolsball says: Apr 15, 2014 5:39 PM

The 49ers want to bring this kid in for a workout, he’s got potential to fit in with the character they’re trying to develop in Santa Clara.

  43. tomtravis76 says: Apr 15, 2014 5:44 PM

If he beats the murder case and becomes a free man, no way the NFL can allow this guy back into its business. But then again some owner so say he deserves a second chance. The NFL really is the modern day coliseum.

  44. dorn09 says: Apr 15, 2014 5:45 PM

It there any doubt that this guy is innocent?

  45. harrisonhits2 says: Apr 15, 2014 5:55 PM

Lol the DA is getting really desperate. He’s not going to be able to make a murder charge stick so they’re doing anything they can to set him up. First the fight with another inmate, now this.

I believe he did it, but the case is shaky with no hard evidence, only circumstantial.

  46. 700levelvet says: Apr 15, 2014 5:55 PM

  52. bunchofstooges says: Apr 15, 2014 7:16 PM

  53. thefootballgodssay says: Apr 15, 2014 7:23 PM

all u need to know about this guy is he is a SUPER BOWL 46 LOSER

  54. beachsidejames says: Apr 15, 2014 7:36 PM

He was a good reciever in New England for the Patriots and I’m sure he will be a good reciever in jail for what ever team he plays for.

  55. uglydingo says: Apr 15, 2014 8:02 PM

The question still needs to be asked – What did the New England Patriots Security Director and his team know of the nefarious activities that Hernandez was engaged in?
Gronk would routinely say that he was the good boy of the Patriot Tightends. It would always generate a good laugh, but he wasn’t joking. More is known about Aaron Hernandez within the Patriot organization and they are getting a pass because they cut him.

  56. jayovalentine says: Apr 15, 2014 8:03 PM

Former Patriots right end ? lol Anyways…. he’s done ! IF by a miracle he is released nobody will ever sign him, NFL or CFL. He won’t survive on the streets too long either without any $.

  57. dynaco says: Apr 15, 2014 8:08 PM

Yup, all the Parcell guys are gone. Too bad so sad.

  58. beecee71 says: Apr 15, 2014 8:26 PM

    Aaaaaahh the Patriot way!

  59. projectshadow316 says: Apr 15, 2014 8:32 PM

It sucks because he was loved in New England, then he had to go screw things up in a massive way. The guy was set for life, and he just threw it all away.

Damn Aaron, you don’t quit do you. You’re behind bars, not very intimidating.

  64. cbgbs21 says: Apr 16, 2014 1:53 PM

One of my buddies from high school is the long snapper on the Pats (Aiken); said the dude didn’t talk to or hang out with ANYONE in the locker room or any other time really. Completely isolated himself from all his teammates; he (my buddy) told me a bunch of the players kept their distance from Hernandez, and it was pretty much a “when, not if” kinda thing regarding Hernandez. Pretty wild stuff.
