When it comes to the 2014 schedule, the NFL has said that the target for the release is mid-April, but that the schedule won’t be released this week.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL currently plans to release the schedule on Tuesday, April 22.

The unveiling of the schedule could be shifted to Wednesday, April 23 or Thursday, April 24.  For now, though, the plan is to pull the sheet off the 256-game slate on Tuesday.

Look for the schedule to be announced in prime-time, with a multi-hour event on NFL Network and something similar to that on ESPN, complete with (if last year’s trend holds) an effort to make preliminary picks for games to be played in December.

Let’s see how many teams bills have to face coming off a bye this year. Seems like it’s 5-6 every season.

Looking forward to seeing which team will end Sam Bradford’s season again. My guess is whoever the Rams play in Week 6.

I hope my Seahawks don’t play the 49ers or broncos week 1 . Let the anticipation build a little . I’d also be irritated of we play the damn panthers again on the road to start the year . Has their ever been a 3 consecutive start to a season against another team in another division on the road . Surely panthers hawks would be fun but damn can we change it up for a year .

I have the Vikings being mathematically eliminated by Halloween again this year.

  23. overdrawnagain says: Apr 15, 2014 9:00 PM

Keep my Rams away from any prime time games. They cannot handle any kind of spotlight.

  24. beerbratscheese says: Apr 15, 2014 9:14 PM

It’ll be interesting to see if the over/under on whether the Vikings will be mathematically eliminated from the playoffs by week 11 will change much after the schedule is released.

  25. jjh1982 says: Apr 15, 2014 9:24 PM

Will that schedule show who the Vikings will lose to in the first round, oh wait a minute the Vikings didn’t make the playoffs last year my bad

It’s a real mystery. Why would the league want to close the gap between April and August?

  27. seahawkswilson says: Apr 15, 2014 10:10 PM

Its going to be (DAL or GB) @ SEA to open the season.

49ers not going on road; will open their stadium instead.

Denver ending preseason away so they will not make them travel again on a short week.

Its going to be a team staying home preseason week 4. That leaves DAL & GB as the biggest hawk home draws of the season.

My money is on DAL, although I’d rather it be GB.

  28. dukeearl says: Apr 16, 2014 7:52 AM

Also Denver also playing the Seahawks in preseason… don’t look for that to happen again until later in the season.

  29. prijak1 says: Apr 16, 2014 11:58 AM

The Broncos at the Patriots for week 1 … Now that’s a game

  30. theclink12 says: Apr 16, 2014 12:04 PM

Green Bay at Seattle to open the season.

  31. markustt says: Apr 16, 2014 12:37 PM

It’s Green Bay, Dallas or San Fran at Seattle on that opening Thursday night. Seahawks won’t be screwed over like the Ravens last year because the Mariners are not playing at home that day.
