Santonio Holmes, Anthony Spencer among top unsigned players

With Chris Johnson (Jets) and Josh Freeman (Giants) reaching contract agreements Wednesday, only six unrestricted/released free agents ranked in PFT’s Free Agent Hot 100 remain without a team for 2014.

Two other free agents can be signed away for draft-pick compensation: Saints tight end Jimmy Graham (franchise tag) and Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin (restricted free agent). Both have been tendered contract offers by their current clubs and seem likely to stay put.

Here are the remaining unsigned players in PFT’s free agent rankings:

67.  Cowboys defensive end/outside linebacker Anthony Spencer.

74.  Packers tight end Jermichael Finley.

81.  Seahawks outside linebacker O’Brien Schofield.

89.  Ex-Buccaneers offensive guard Davin Joseph.

97.  Ex-Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes.

102.  Panthers offensive guard Travelle Wharton. ***

*** — Has reportedly indicated he could retire.

2.  Saints tight end Jimmy Graham.

82.  Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin.

I don’t know how the Titans looking for 3-4/hybrid style guy’s aren’t looking at Spencer to make the transition from a 4-3. Maybe they feel Wimbley with his restructure is the better, cheaper option.

How does 102 make it to the Hot 100? Was there a tie in there somewhere?

Vikings need these guys. Got to find a way to get out of the cellar. Skol. 18 division titles. Historic & wonderful.

I look for Jerry Jones to make a move to resign Spencer for pennies on the dollar of what he made last year with Dallas.

If the Seahawks lose Doug Baldwin it would be an unmitigated disaster. All he does is catch EVERYTHING & convert 3rd downs into 1st downs & tds. Come on Schneider, throw us Seahawk fans a bone & lock this guy down. He’s a fan favorite & a clutch receiver.
