PFT Live: Brady ready to crush a rookie QB

Tom Brady is signed on to quarterback the Patriots for another four years and though Mike Florio reckons New England draft a passer to succeed Brady, Tom Curran thinks it would only push Brady harder. “If it’s to push Brady harder,” Curran says. “What you’ll see is what you saw in 2010 when Ryan Mallet was drafted in the third round. Brady will tear the heart out of the kid and show it to him while it’s still beating.”

Way to twist things around pft.

You make it sound like Brady will treat any drafted or backup QB like crap when it couldn’t be farther from the truth. He’s always mentored other QBs on the roster.

What Curran meant is it will drive Brady to play his best so that any backup won’t stand a chance of getting on the field because Brady is playing so well, not because he’s not helping them out.

There are a lot worse QBs on NFL rosters that has never had the success Vince Young has had …(NFL Rookie of the Year, 2 Pro Bowls, Playoff experience and Mobility). Vince has a career winning record of 31-19…
    Give him a tryout… I believe he can help….

In reality, Mallet was drafted in 2011, not 2010.
