Bills continue to take a close look at Kyle Fuller

Fuller AP

The Bills hold the ninth overall pick in the draft.  For the third time in seven years, the Bills could be using a top-11 pick on a cornerback.

According to Mike Rodak of ESPN.com, Virginia Tech cornerback Kyle Fuller is visiting the Bills on Monday.  This comes after the Bills traveled to Blacksburg to work Fuller out.

Whether it’s Fuller or someone else, the Bills have now used five of their 30 pre-draft visits on the cornerback position.

Two years ago, the Bills used the 10th overall pick on cornerback Stephon Gilmore.  Four years earlier, Leodis McKelvin became a Bill via the eleventh overall pick.  Both are still on the team.

NOOOOO O-Line or move out the first round!

I just don’t think I could get on board with this one. It’s arguably their best position after adding Graham. I’d rather not replace Mckelvin right when he finally starts playing well.

I wonder if Donald Trump even knows what a cornerback is?

maybe they are considering trading back up in the first or hoping he falls to the second round? I’m no draft expert but based on my rampant googling of “2014 NFL mock draft” this seems like a massive reach…

Unfortunately those dry jokes will have to wait a few months at the very least, should they ever be able to be used. Trump has nothing to do with the current bills organization, let alone the scouting dept.

Corners are drafted nearly annually by teams. No surprise. Bills are just doing their due diligence should they be in a trade-back scenario with the OTs off the clock and them deeming Ebron too much of a reach. Some CB’s like Graham are being looked at safety, too, so there’s that uncertainty as well.

Stop me if you’ve heard this before bills fans. We are picking between 8-11. We need offensive line help. We draft someone skinny.

I don’t think Fuller is going to play cornerback. I see him more likely in a safety role like he played at Virginia Tech.

That having been said. He is scary good. His instincts for the ball are very similar to Troy Polomalu, as is his play making ability.

I think he is going to be one of those guys that slips in the draft, but in three years if you had it to do all over he would be a top-5 pick.

Fuller has very good ball skills and is the best tackler of all the CB’s, but this would be a huge reach at 9! And he won’t be there for the Bills 2nd pick. He will go around 22-28. Bills are taking best OT or Ebron.

i`d be very happy to be wrong but e.j manuel showed NOTHING last season to prove he was good pick in the first round. i hope someone at one bills drive is thinking qb in the first 3 rounds because not even seeing a “flash” of top notch ability has got me and many other bills fans very very worried. happy “D” day buffalo, ya`ll know what i mean!

Teams work guys out for the 2nd and 3rd rounds too. Meeting twice with Fuller does not mean that they are interested in taking him at 9.
