Colts sign Colt Anderson

The Colts welcomed back many old faces at the start of the offseason workout program Monday and they also said hello to a new member of the team.

In one of the more perfect matches in memory, the Colts announced that they have signed safety Colt Anderson. No terms were announced.

Anderson signed with the Eagles while he was a member of the Vikings’ practice squad in 2010 and has played 48 games for the team over the last four seasons. Six of those appearances were starts, but Anderson generally saw more time on special teams than on defense during his time in Philadelphia.

While the Colts are in need of help at safety after Antoine Bethea departed for San Francisco as a free agent, Anderson is going to be ticketed for more of the same in Indianapolis unless the Colts strike out in their quest for more help in the draft.

He could always grab the tee after a kickoff…

Bear Pascoe to Chicago would be good, too.

He is actually a really good special team player. Won’t see the field too much more than that though.

As an Eagles fan I must say that the Colts are getting a quality player and special teams Ace. Not the greatest Safety in the world but was ALWAYS the first on the scene in kick coverage! Good luck Colt.

If effort was all it took to be good, Colt Anderson is an all-pro.

Colt’s a pretty talented player. saw about 2-3 games of him at Montana (i’m not a Griz fan, though. nothing wrong with that, however).

Special team players get headlines now after they sign? Pushing back the draft has really taken it’s toll.

Incredibly, there isn’t a single person named Bill on Buffalo’s roster.

This would have been the greatest headline of all time if his last name was Colterson.

I wonder if Colt Anderson will be a member of the Colts in July when they open summer training camp in Anderson, Indiana.
