Family tradition: Jake Matthews to visit the Texans

The Texans continue to look at the entire board before they make the first pick, including a chance to talk to someone with a familiar name in Houston.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Texas A&M tackle Jake Matthews is scheduled to visit the Texans this week for a visit.

His father, Hall of Fame guard Bruce Matthews, played 19 seasons for the Oilers/Titans, so a Houston reunion would be sentimental.

But they’re also looking at all the top players on the board, and Matthews joins Auburn tackle Greg Robinson in making a pre-draft visit to the Texans facility.

It’s hard to imagine using the top pick on either of them with bigger needs than a right tackle or a left guard (since left tackle Duane Brown is one of their established pieces), but Matthews could be a viable pick if they move down a few slots.
