Rolando McClain added to reserve/retired list

Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain has been placed on the reserve/retired list, according to the NFL’s Tuesday transaction log.

McClain told ESPN on Monday that he was ending his comeback attempt after a season away from football.

The Ravens signed the 24-year-old McClain last April, but the former Alabama star retired a little more than a month later. The Raiders’ first-round pick in 2010, McClain started 38 games in three seasons with Oakland, but off-field issues and a dispute with coach Dennis Allen marred his tenure.

For the time being, the Ravens retain McClain’s rights should he decide to return again to football.

Hooray for the Raiders drafting another bust!
    Jamarcus Russell, Rolando McClain…
Who will it be this year?

Rolando is waiting for the Ravens to send a contingent of veteran players to his home to try to talk him out of retirement.

It would be MUCH more appropriate to add him to the EXTINCT list, if it refers to his football career. The title of the above list implies there is a chance of a return or comeback, and that ain’t happening in this slug’s case.

Be rid of the parity of him! Just cut the dead weight Ozzie!

To all you Ravens fans who said “Oh, what a steal, Alabama Ozzie knows everything?”.

Enough said, the guy got his 25 million bucks and called it quits after the draft.

Total loser. He will end up broke and try and make a comeback two years from now.

No dumb takers I think the next time around.

I think he’s confused with what he wants in life. He’s twenty four, I’m twenty two and I’m confused. I could be wrong but that’s what I’m guessing it may be, money might of just made it worse.

Please stop using pics of him in Raiders gear. He’s all Baltimore’s problem now.

No Rolando, I don’t want to super size it. Just get me my big mac, fries and a sprite!

The moment in Ro’s life he left the guardianship of school his life collapsed.

His only chance of not allowing his life to be among the many sad sport stories is to find structure ( A JOB ) in his life.

Each of us is wrong on countless choices every day, so Ro is just being human….but for God sake son LEARN from your mistakes.

Everyone on this board knows this choice is the wrong one for Ro, and yet he is going to push forward with it.

He will be trying out for a Canadian team within 3 years.
We all know this will not end well for Ro

It’s both sad and shocking. He was a certified monster in college. I hope he gets it together, I can’t wish ill on him. If anyone needs a mentor, it’s Ro.

Yes.. Cadillac Williams and Josh Freeman were much better first round picks. Look at the success rate of every NFL team in the draft. It is hit or miss. The Bucs and Bungles have had more players get into legal trouble than any other team. It happens with all young people.. Not sure what they want in life..

What most people don’t realize is how much luck has to do with winning in the NFL. The Giants were a lock to draft this kid but in came the raiders picking him before they should have and we got stuck with JPP and won a super bowl a couple of years later…

He needs as many healthy brain cells as he can get to make it through life.

Why show him in Raiders UNI when he imploded in Crackmore? 24 years old and can’t man up. At least this Ravenette didn’t punch out his fiance’. Or stab a couple of dude in an alley…ALLEGEDLY

Nice thing you got going, OZ

Oz does have a nice thing going. Thanks for noticing. Pretty clever of you to pick out two events that happened 14 years apart with team that has only been around about 18 years.

Another fine product of Doctor Oz! What a joke!
