The 49ers’ lone restricted free agent has signed his one-year contract offer.

The club said Friday that defensive tackle / tight end Demarcus Dobbs has re-signed for the 2014 season.

Dobbs (6-2, 282) appeared in 15 games for the 49ers in 2013, recording 14 tackles. He played 306 snaps last season, according to Pro Football Focus.

The 26-year-old Dobbs was listed as the 49ers’ top reserve right defensive tackle behind starter Justin Smith a season ago. He has played in 39 regular season games with San Francisco since 2011.

Hopefully his skills are not needed much. (Except for giving Justin a rest).
I am hoping both teams will be healthy this season so no excuses can be made.
