Aaron Murray hoping to prove himself well for Browns workout

Maybe to be a Browns quarterback, you have to tear an ACL.

As they look for someone to compete with and/or/hopefully replace Brian Hoyer, the Browns worked out Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray Sunday.

Murray tore his ACL in November, which obviously compromised his draft stock, but he’s hoping to prove himself well to the Browns.

I’m really excited to show them what I can do,” Murray told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I’m way ahead of the game right now. There’s no hesitation about anything. Running around, there’s no worries about my leg. I’m full-go and feeling great.”

He’s one of many quarterbacks the Browns have taken a look at, though he’s more of a mid-round selection. If the Browns got through the first round without using one of their two picks on a quarterback, it would be a major upset.

I would be happy to draft Carr and Murray to be backup to Hoyer and use our higher picks for Watkins, etc.
