See, wearing the No. 7 isn’t a big deal. Or if it ever was, he’s over it.
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Jets quarterback Michael Vick will wear the No. 8 jersey.
He’s still listed without a number on the Jets roster, but that’s a moot point, since he’s posted “I want to see everybody in there MV8 jerseys this year,” on his Instagram account, the [sic] notwithstanding.
The number became an issue since Jets quarterback Geno Smith took the No. 7 a year before Vick’s arrival, though those close to Vick denied it was ever of any interest to him.
The Jets can only hope it works out better than the Browning Nagle era, or that Smith plays well enough to keep that 8 on the sidelines.
