Hugh Douglas, the former NFL player who has had multiple off-field issues in the last year, is facing another one: He’s being sued by an ex-girlfriend.

In September, Douglas was arrested and accused of assaulting his girlfriend. He later avoided jail time with a no contest plea. Now that ex-girlfriend, Hope Davila, says she didn’t get justice in the criminal case and is suing him, accusing him of assaulting her other times beyond just that incident in September.

That incident took place shortly after Douglas lost his job at ESPN following a report that he threatened to beat up a co-worker.

A first-round draft pick of the Jets, Douglas was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1995 and later was traded to Philadelphia and became a three-time Pro Bowler with the Eagles. After finishing his playing career with the Eagles, he had a stint working for the team, best remembered for a reported locker-room fight with Terrell Owens.
