The Dolphins’ draft needs come up for discussion

Koa Misi, Joe Philbin AP

It would be hard to get more than a few words into any review of the Dolphins’ 2013 season without mentioning the implosion of their offensive line.

Tackle Jonathan Martin walked away from the team after being subjected to harassment by guard Richie Incognito, who was suspended by the team, and others, leading to an investigation that turned up more problematic behavior and was a black eye for all in the organization. Making matters worse is the fact that the Dolphins’ line wasn’t any good before the behind the scenes revelations shoveled further dirt on the team.

Incognito, Martin, tackle Tyson Clabo and guard John Jerry, who was implicated in the harassment of Martin and other players, are all gone and the Dolphins need to replace them in the draft. It would be a surprise if the Dolphins didn’t add multiple offensive linemen to the roster over the seven rounds, but those aren’t their only needs.

Check out our review of those needs and then let us know your thoughts about the first-round pick in the poll below.

I agree. We need a good receiver. N then LB. There is a lot of depth for o line. We need to start scoring points already. We need to find out with a good o line if tannehill is the guy or not. The dolphins have been bad for way to long. We loose so many close games and it has to stop. I like the direction where this team is heading with the new gm. Hope it continues come draft day

If Martin was harassed or bullied as this rag would suggest, then why, after Wells report has Goodell not said something,,,anything, that even hints at pounce or Incognito, et al being suspended or fined? Wells report amounted to a very small hill of beans and nothing more. How do you bully a 6’5″ 325lb NFL Tackle? We’ll,,,Im waiting.
Not one witness who sat to be deposed by Wells was under oath,,which means neither Wells nor anyone else can prove if a witnessed lied or didn’t lie. This entire episode was media driven,,,”Oh no the poor little black boy was bullied by the big ole white man”.

The “Sons of Anarchy” had fewest total team sacks in the AFCE. The same number as the Vikings. So in reality, they’re not that much to worry about.
