The Packers have reportedly filled their assistant offensive line coach vacancy.

Rob Demovsky of reports the club will hire New Mexico State offensive line coach Steve Marshall to fill the assistant’s role vacated by Joel Hilgenberg, who resigned from the staff last week to devote more time to his family.

The 57-year-old Marshall was the Texans’ offensive line coach in 2004 and 2005 and the Browns’ offensive line coach in 2007 and 2008. He was also the Texans’ assistant offensive line coach from 2002 and 2003.

Marshall was added to New Mexico State’s coaching staff in January. Previously, he was Colorado’s offensive coach 2011 and 2012.

Let’s see if I can beat the Mini trolls and make the first post on this one.
Seems like a pretty good hire. Experienced.

Okay, things are moving along. They have an offensive line coach and an assistant offensive line coach. Now they just need to find some offensive linemen.

They said to Steve “Welcome to Green Bay!”, then snapped his picture.

What a privilege it must be to coach the worst o- line in the league, lol Welcome to the franchise of clown music!

There you go. That should fix everything.

It must be a little intimidating for Steve. Most of the other coaches and players have rings. It’s hard to move around that place without tripping over a Lombardi Trophy, or other championship gear.

I have no doubt the Packers will embrace the new guy, and make him feel welcome.

Worst offensive line in the league. Hmmmm…

Do you mean the O-line with the best guard tandem in the league? Or the one where the 4th round rookie had to start at left tackle due to injury, performed well, and completely OWNED Jarred Allen? That line?

Yes thats the one…the one with the 23rd league rating on Pro Focus? Looks like Steve’s picture was taken after he was told that the Packers are planning on trading to the point of owning the entire 7th round of the draft. Bulaga bust and Sherood busts their top 7th round focus

Looks like a mug shot. Did they hire him or arrest him?

I don’t know if five tackles and a pass defensed is the definition of “owned,” but we do expect better. That’s why we cut him.

  14. The Almighty Cabbage says: Apr 30, 2014 5:34 PM

Wait, now I’m really confused. Do you mean the O-line that opened the holes through which Eddie Lacy blasted his way to R.O.Y. on the way to yet another Division championship?

    That line?

  15. The Almighty Cabbage says: Apr 30, 2014 5:43 PM

When your “pass rush specialist” can’t get into the backfield, much less anywhere near the QB, that is indeed the definition of owned.

Packers OLine ranked 23rd by Pro Focus huh, not shocking that Vikings fans think there are only 23 teams in the league, lol.

Worst o-line in the league, offense rookie of the year.remind you he was a halfback, those do not go together.

They took that picture of him grimacing right after he was told that Bulaga now only has one knee and his arms are 22 inches long.
