The Dallas Cowboys have bolstered the depth of their wide receiving corps a week ahead of the NFL Draft.

The team announced Thursday they have signed former Arizona Cardinals receiver Laron Byrd.

At 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, Byrd is the biggest receiver currently under contract with the Cowboys.

Byrd was signed by the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Miami (FL) following the 2012 NFL Draft. He appeared in four games and recorded just one catch for eight yards in his rookie season. Byrd suffered a concussion in training camp last season and landed on the Cardinals’ injured reserve list for the entire season. He was released by Arizona in April.

During his college career at Miami, Byrd had 106 receptions for 1,254 yards and seven touchdowns. He set a career high in 2009 with 33 receptions for 460 yards.

Yet another WR that Romo will make a household name.

And before you hit the thumbs down, think Kevin Ogletree, Laurent Robinson, etc. Who were they before #9 started throwing them the rock?

A ‘Cane receiver that was decent in college but couldn’t get it together in the pro’s. Cowboys now have one and us Skins have Hankerson.

Larant Robinson 2.0 . Yes thats a good thing. Like Robinson, Romo will make him look great then someone like the Jags will give him a blockbuster deal and suck.

Great talk about a reserve.. Think the cards have some idea about who they need in arguably the most aggresive division…..

4 games, 1 catch, 8 yards. I think this signing could have waited.
