The draft previews roll on with the Eagles

Wide receiver has been a hot spot with the Eagles in recent months.

The team kicked off the offseason by re-signing Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin, which seemed to give them a very strong trio at the top of the depth chart for the 2014 season. Then came the DeSean Jackson saga, which started as whispers about trade rumors moved into a discussion of Jackson’s possible gang ties and ended with Jackson’s release last month.

Will the focus on receiver continue in the first round of next month’s draft? The Eagles have spent a lot of time checking out the available options at the position, but the depth of both the Eagles offense and the receiver group could send them in a different direction. Defensive backs and pass rushers would also make a lot of sense in Philly, giving the team plenty of paths to follow once May 8 rolls around.

Check out our thoughts on the Eagles’ biggest needs and let us know what you think by casting a vote below.

If Anthony Barr does slip they will probably take him. If not I think they go WR

I’m hoping Clinton-Dix falls to 22 for the Eagles to pick up. If he’s there, theres no temptation to reach for a 2nd round WR to fill a need.

Does the trade rumor with Miami for Jordan still have legs?

Could then trade Brandon Graham and Bryce Brown to recoup some of the picks bundled with #22 for that trade.

Better pass rush = improved secondary.

I’d like to see Pryor or Dix if available at 22.. and then WR Latimer out of IU in the second.

I agree with Pryor or Dix if available but I would also take C.J. Mosely if he should fall.

The problem with of these mock drafts is that there is so much nonsense that I lose touch with what is realalistic.

Mosely seems to be available in alot of drafts now at #22 but that seems stupid.

I also like Latimer inthe second.

I think to neutralize the biggest threat to the Eagles next year (Skins offense) is to draft a DB and outside linebacker in the first two rounds. Chip is a pretty smart coach and can find what he needs in a WR later in the draft.

If Dix or Barr don’t slip, they trade down

olb in the first and barr will be there, dont be shocked if they trade up to grab evans if he slides ever so slightly

Brandon Cooks is the ideal pick here. If Anthony Barr, Darqueze Dennard, Justin Gilbert, HaHa Clinton Dix or Calvin Pryor slide however, you have to consider any of them. I distrust Alabama players, and I’m not sure if Pryor is all that great in coverage, so I’m not super high on either safety prospect. But the talent is there for any of those players to be considered if still available.

the eagles will line all of THEIR top WR prospects,, and they will draft someone that is the top runblocking prospect, not someone to replace DeSean.

A real deal pass rusher takes the heat off the Def. backfield. Love Anthony Barr. Then A WR that can fly taking a safety and corner with him. Remember we have some young guys coming on from last year’s draft and previous year too.
