Seahawks sign cornerback A.J. Jefferson

With the big money the Seahawks are giving and will give to their secondary, they need some cheaper parts to fill in the blanks.

They’ve apparently found one in A.J. Jefferson.

According to a tweet from his agent Ken Sarnoff, Jefferson has signed with the Seahawks.

The Vikings released Jefferson in November after his arrest on domestic assault charges, and he finished the year with the Browns, landing on injured reserve with an ankle problem.

He worked out for the Seahawks last week, so they must have been convinced he can contribute to one of the league’s best secondaries.

    This makes it official:

The whole Seahawks organization and fanbase is obsessed with the Vikings.

They just wait to pick up our trash off the waivers.

Jealousy is a disease, and the Seahawk fans are infected

We signed another player from a team that hasn’t won a championship since 1969. Their franchise is 0 and 4 in their SB appearances. You’d also like to know that they have the 3rd longest drought in the NFL for a title behind the Jets and Chiefs.

  3. nycscott says: May 2, 2014 5:29 PM

Thanks again Minnesota for being our farm club. Maybe in a year or five you’ll have a team that plays in the NFL. Now where did we leave that Lombardi Trophy? Oh, there it is in Renton, Washington.

    A.J. Jefferson > Richard Sherman

And he keeps his mouth shut too.

Another Viking of course…. the Seahawks minor league

  6. seatownballers says: May 2, 2014 5:37 PM

Yawn. Doubt this guy makes the squad, between lane and Simon being ready

  7. Remember Brian Brohm says: May 2, 2014 5:37 PM

Although it’s hard to imagine A.J. Jefferson playing any worse than he has to this point in his career, I expect him to be even worse in Seattle. This is because every former Viking Seattle has signed has performed worse as a Seahawk than as a Viking. Why they continue this obsession is beyond me, but they must know what they’re doing.

  8. filthymcnasty1 says: May 2, 2014 5:37 PM

I’ve noticed that Viking fans have a vile and seething hatred of the Seahawks and their fans now that they’ve won a championship. I used to think Viking hatred was just a Packer/border/inferiority thing, but it appears their real aversion is to winning.

They hate others who won’t embrace the suck with them.

  10. Derwin Worrell says: May 2, 2014 5:43 PM

Minnesota fans don’t have a right to speak to Seahawks fans. “Shut your mouth and know your role!”

  11. trollhammer20 says: May 2, 2014 5:43 PM

I see the Vikings getting him back after he’s not able to earn a roster spot. Sort of like Winfield, only, without the retirement party at the end.

  12. jonscot1 says: May 2, 2014 5:44 PM

You can’t blame the guy for wanting to play for a WINNER…. Unlike playing for a sorry vi queen team that will NEVER WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP….. LMAO

  13. thevikesarebest says: May 2, 2014 5:46 PM

The shehawks will never be on the vikings level.inferior franchise and fanbase.your winning percentage will never reach ours.your history will never be as rich as ours.you are classless and laughable and that will never change.meanwhile the mike zimmer led vikings are getting ready for a decade of competitive football and a couple of rings before ap retires.and we won’t need to use peds.SKOL

3rd longest drought for a title? Do you mean super bowl or division title? Either way your facts are wrong about whatever your talking about. Look it up. Vikings last won the nfc north in 2009 and have won it 18 total times since founded. Packers have only won it 11 times. Bears 10. Lions 3. Nuff said.

Man what do you eat/drink/smoke to come up with this stuff? We’re WORLD champions why would we be jealous of a dysfunctional sinking ship like the Vikings?

  20. 92nick182govikings says: May 2, 2014 5:57 PM

Its true that every Viking performs worse in Seattle. Only Viking that lived up to expectations was heath farwell
Most nfl fans have never heard of him and I bet most seahawk fans have never even heard of him. And maybe harvin cause he did live up to his injury prone expectations.

  21. 92nick182govikings says: May 2, 2014 6:09 PM

Since the Vikings and packers and bears and lions have been in the same division.. the vikings have 27 playoff berths packers 20 bears 14 lions 10. Nuff said mr.mcnasty.

Bragging about winning division titles is like bragging about kissing the prom queen. Winning SUPERBOWLS is going all the way with her.

Funny how everyone is saying Jefferson was a Viking. People, he came from the Cardinals….

  26. slickhawk says: May 2, 2014 7:00 PM

I’m tired of people talking about Seattle taking vikings players, Steve Hutchinson, was stolen from hawks and that’s what started it all. But it’s not the Hawks fault Minnesota Vikings keep throwing away talent. And yet it’s okay for Minnesota packers to steel from green bay. And read the freaking report he was a brown before Hawks got him so quit crying. Super Bowl Champions so who cares if we take a look of vikings talent.

  27. 92nick182govikings says: May 2, 2014 7:05 PM

I am the Viking defender and will debate you any day whenever you talk bad about my vikes. I will defend their honor and tell you why they are a historic franchise. You will thumbs down my comments but deep in your small packer cheeseheads you know im right!

  28. slickhawk says: May 2, 2014 7:07 PM

Remember Brian brohm, check your stats. Warren moon, made the pro bowl won mvp of the league and mvp of the pro bowl as a Seahawk, John Randle lead the league in sacks as a Seahawk, oh and Percy Having returned a kickoff for a td in the biggest game on earth. That’s just a few. Ceck your stats.

  29. nicofthenorthstar says: May 2, 2014 7:08 PM

The Seaturds obsession with former Vikings is creepy.

  30. thevikingdefender says: May 2, 2014 7:19 PM

Slickhawk did you really just call Jefferson a talent. He would be your 5th or 6th guy IF he makes the cut. Ahhh that was a good one!

  31. slickhawk says: May 2, 2014 7:20 PM

Vikings steel Hawks players to Steve Hutchinson, John Carlson. So pipe down. Viking fans are crying cause we get all your talent and win a super bowl. Maybe if you kept some of your players you could get to the playoffs so Hawks could knock you out of the playoffs with your own players. GO HAWK’S

  32. thevikingdefender says: May 2, 2014 7:24 PM

Slickhawk, we talk about recent Viking turned Seahawks being failures. Heath is the only one who lived up to expectations and we will see if percy can live up to expectations, if he can stay healthy. Percy has missed more games than he has played in throughout his career!

  33. thevikingdefender says: May 2, 2014 7:28 PM

Slickhawk, no Viking helped the Seahawks win the superbowl. Sure percy had a kick return for a touchdown to start the 3rd but the game was over at that point. It was the defense that won the game. Not a single viking player played a major role.

    =================================
You are absolutely right. I can never see the Seahawks being the same level — bottom level of the NFL with you. Or be the inferior NFL franchise and fanbase you identify clearly as your Vikings. And the Hawks winning percentage will never reach the low levels your team has because the Hawks win.

So, I admit. You are right. The entire team would have to stop playing to reach the Vikings levels.

  39. getadealdonealready says: May 2, 2014 8:37 PM

The Seahawks are the model franchise until someone knocks them off. However I don’t understand how they have been able to do it signing they former Vikings they have. They haven’t had too much success with these players. However they still win, are are built to win into the foreseeable future.

  40. thatoneguyjon says: May 2, 2014 8:50 PM

I don’t understand why Seattle keeps signing old Vikings players. they never do anything there. Rice and burleson were nothing special in Seattle. tjack didn’t do anything. they gave up a 1st and two 3rds to over pay harvin and make it harder to sign their own guys. are they still mad about the Steve Hutchinson signing?

Seattle has built a really good team, not by signing ex Vikings but by drafting well.

  41. godofpft says: May 2, 2014 9:12 PM

  43. mediasloppy says: May 2, 2014 9:47 PM

He’s tall and lanky with decent speed. He should be able to play for the hawks. Any decent CB can play good when you game plan is mugging the WR, because the refs will usually dismiss the vast majority of holding penalties. Don’t jump down my throat for saying do, since that game plan came out of Sherman’s mouth…

  44. norwegianwud says: May 2, 2014 10:12 PM

Teams pick up capable players all the time in FA. I don’t necessarily think it’s a coincidence he played for Vikes but AJ is a bit of a head scratcher to me. He ain’t real good. Maybe they can get more out of him than his last 3 teams. Or maybe they just put a fire under somebody’s rear end that wants more money than they want to pay.

  45. bert1913 says: May 2, 2014 10:19 PM

the vikings are the seahawks double a team

  46. hakunamatata023 says: May 2, 2014 10:47 PM

I don’t get why once a team wins one championship they act like there the greatest thing to ever happen to football. The Vikings have a long proud winning tradition, no we haven’t won a SB yet and last last few years we haven’t been up to par but were never out of the playoffs for a long period of time and we have a great winning percentage. The seahawks are great right now yes but before that they were terrible! they had one other good run a few years before this and once again sucked for a long time before that and Hawks fans weren’t that relivent they only are now because there winning where as the Vikings stadium has always sold out tix each season even when we had a crappy stadium. Hawks fans are just front runner their just like the saints no one cared until they became good then all the sudden everyones a saints fan. One last thing you all talk about how awesome ur stadium is and yes I like ur stadium I always have but Hawks fans use to always complain about it and hated it for years but then it becomes relivent as the 12th man and all the sudden it amazing and the greatest. I’m sure there were some who always loved it but there were always bunched on blogs smack talking it until it became famous. It just goes to show how they just fallow whats in at the time.

  47. allidoiswin55 says: May 2, 2014 11:07 PM

  48. ballhawk75 says: May 3, 2014 12:43 AM

I tend to disagree with viking defender Percy helped set the tone for both halfs.donks were in the locker room for30 minutes trying to psyc themselves out to come out and try to make a miraculous comeback. Percy’s runback was like a dagger in their sail.he had that secondary so worried it made the other receivers easy targets for Wilson all night

  49. hakunamatata023 says: May 3, 2014 1:57 AM

I like how slicks comeback to how the hawks take all of the Vikings players is that the Vikes sign hawk players too and his list consists of Hutchinson and Carlson haha you make me laugh=) 2 players in about 7-8 years compared to double digit amounts in just the past 5-6 so silly you are

  50. 49erstim says: May 3, 2014 4:11 AM

I just came here to read the comments. For reasons I cannot even fathom The Seahawk and Vikings fans hate each other. Why? Because one team CUTS a guy and the other gives that man a JOB? Or because when your team sought to UNLOAD a player via trade the other stepped to the plate and assisted? I don’t get it Vikings fans. If what you say is true and these former players “never work out in Seattle” Then why oh why are you so upset? Seems to me that you’d be happy about that. Or is it because Petey said you guys treated TJax poorly and didn’t give him a fair shake and then promptly did the same stuff to him? Somebody hip me to the program please. I understand the inter-division rivalry between 9ers and Hawks or between Vikes and Pack, but you guys hate a team you rarely play.

  51. deltaoracle says: May 3, 2014 12:28 PM

  52. daegudave says: May 3, 2014 3:07 PM

As a Seahawk fan, I agree with Paul Silvi–I believe in second chances, but only a coward hits a woman. Not sure past behavior of Mr. Jefferson is consistent with “always compete.”

  53. ysosrious says: May 5, 2014 10:20 AM

I’m not a historian and don’t know this off the top of my head, can a Vikings fan tell me what year your team won a Superbowl? I just keep remembering bad playoff losses.

  54. ysosrious says: May 5, 2014 10:29 AM

Never mind, found it. You all are 0-4 in the Superbowl with the last appearance in 1977….37 years ago. Ouch. No wonder Vikings fans got a chip on your shoulder. Well, at least you got a franchise QB to take you to greatness right? Wait, sorry….I meant a solid Defense to excel you to greatness….shoot. Never mind. Maybe your Special teams will be really good???
