Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks has spent time with the Jets’ brass and gotten a very good vibe.

Cooks, who won the Biletnikoff Award as the best receiver in college football last season, told the New York Post that he believes the Jets are hoping he’s still on the board so they can take him at No. 18.

“We’ve been talking a lot on and off,” Cooks said. “I took a visit. I think the visit went great. It’s one of those things. I feel like they’re pushing for me, but who knows?”

Cooks said he has seen what the Jets do on offense and feels like he would be the perfect addition to a receiving corps that has also added Eric Decker in free agency.

“It’s an amazing fit,” Cooks said. “I feel like they’re on the rise. They’re doing great things. I just feel like they need to add one more thing to their package. I feel like if they had a speed receiver they’d be complete. We’ll see.”

There’s expected to be a run on receivers in the first round tomorrow night, with Sammy Watkins of Clemson and Mike Evans of Texas A&M sure to be taken before the Jets are on the clock, and Odell Beckham Jr. of LSU likely gone as well. Cooks would be next on the receiver list, and if he’s right about how the Jets view him, he’ll be the choice.
