Buccaneers select Mike Evans with No. 7 overall pick

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally added a weapon to pair with Vincent Jackson on offense.

Tampa Bay made Texas A&M wide receiver Mike Evans the seventh overall pick in the draft to add to a receiving corps with few options outside of Jackson.

The team traded receiver Mike Williams to Buffalo this offseason, leaving just a handful of marginal receivers on the roster to complement Jackson. Evans gives the Buccaneers another big receiver at 6-foot-5, 231 pounds to give Tampa Bay quarterbacks Josh McCown and Mike Glennon more options in the passing game.

The Buccaneers elected to pass on Evans’ college teammate Johnny Manziel to address receiver instead.

What a charmed life Josh McCown’s had of late. From high school coach to throwing it to Marshall and Jeffrey to throwing it to Jackson and Evans? Nice…

This will prove Manziel’s value…was it Evans and Mathews?…or is Johnny FB for real?

Totally down with this pick. He’s Anquan Boldin but younger with the same nasty attitude. A little work is needed on his run blocking but he’s smart enough to get it. He’ll be a beast inside the red zone.

Great pick…..problem is who the hell is gonna throw him the ball. And seeing our jersey almost made me puke up my dinner……by far the ugliest in the league.

Wow so much for speed and space. I dont really like the pick but I’ll root for him. I hope Lovie and Licht prove me wrong

Between Evans and V-Jax, TB might have the two dumbest starting WRs in the league….

He reminds me very much of USC Mike Williams.

I must be the only Bucs fan who wasn’t ecstatic about the pick yes it fills a need at wr but not explosiveness I expected say like from a Brandin Cooks people keep telling me that I’m crazy for wanted an explosive player and that we don’t need one because we jeff Demps smh
