The Cowboys had their chance, and they passed on the “glory hole” for a more immediate need.
With Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel sitting there in their laps, the Cowboys took Notre Dame offensive lineman Zack Martin from Notre Dame with the 16th overall pick.
It’s more of a need, and makes far more sense for the Cowboys, but it’s a lot less fun.
Martin’s a safe and solid pick for a team that hasn’t made enough of them.
He’s just not much fun.
