Just what the Broncos needed: Another weapon in the passing game.

Cody Latimer, a wide receiver from Indiana, was taken by the Broncos in the second round, with the 56th overall pick. He’ll be Peyton Manning’s newest target.

“I get to go to a great organization with a great quarterback, and that’s what I wanted,” Latimer said on NFL Network. “It was worth the wait.”

In Denver, Latimer joins a receiving corps that also includes Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker and Emmanuel Sanders, plus tight end Julius Thomas. Despite losing Eric Decker in free agency, the Broncos could have every bit as good a passing game in 2014 as they had in 2013, when Manning broke the NFL records for passing yards and passing touchdowns in a season.

And Latimer thinks the Broncos will be an even better team. Asked about getting back to the Super Bowl, Latimer said, “We’re gonna win it.”
