Texans start the second round with guard Xavier Su’a-Filo

The second round of the NFL draft is underway, and the Houston Texans have begun by bolstering their offensive line.

Xavier Su’a-Filo, a guard from UCLA, is the 33rd overall pick in the draft.

Su’a-Filo began his college career as a left tackle and started all 13 games as a true freshman at the most important position on the offensive line in 2009. He then left school for two seasons and served a Mormon mission, and when he returned he moved to guard. That’s where he remained, and that’s where his NFL future is.

Now Su’a-Filo will head to Houston, where they’ll expect him to improve the line as a starter from Day One.

The Texans were one pick away from getting the best QB prospect in a decade in Teddy Bridgewater and future top 5 QB in the NFL.

    Sucks to suck.

Great pick if they can figure out how to trade up for Derek Carr with a later pick!

Done with Texans..Worse draft in Franchise history. You need a QB and pass on the 4 best. GO CARDINALS!!!

Smart pick. Always go with the best player. Sua-Filo was a top 25 talent who fell because of positional value. To get him at 33 is great value.
