The second round of the NFL draft is underway, and the Houston Texans have begun by bolstering their offensive line.
Xavier Su’a-Filo, a guard from UCLA, is the 33rd overall pick in the draft.
Su’a-Filo began his college career as a left tackle and started all 13 games as a true freshman at the most important position on the offensive line in 2009. He then left school for two seasons and served a Mormon mission, and when he returned he moved to guard. That’s where he remained, and that’s where his NFL future is.
Now Su’a-Filo will head to Houston, where they’ll expect him to improve the line as a starter from Day One.
