Aaron Murray, a prolific passer at Georgia who saw his draft stock decline when he tore his ACL late in his senior year, has landed in Kansas City.

The Chiefs selected Murray with a fifth-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft, No. 163 overall.

Murray looks like a good fit for Chiefs coach Andy Reid’s offense, and Reid will likely give Murray a year to develop and rehab his knee behind starting quarterback Alex Smith. If Murray shows promise, he could become a starter in 2015.

A four-year starter at Georgia, Murray was the MVP of all three bowl games he was healthy enough to play, and he’s the SEC’s all-time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns.
