See, you don’t have to be one of the best teams in the league to stash picks for the future.

The Jaguars used the 114th pick in the NFL Draft on Oklahoma cornerback Aaron Colvin, who tore his ACL at the Senior Bowl.

According to Mark Long of the Associated Press, the Jaguars said they expected him to start the season on the physically unable to perform list, and aren’t ruling out the possibility of him playing this year.

Though the Jaguars have some immediate needs, it’s a good value pick, as many thought he’d be a second-rounder before the injury. Considering we’re at the point in the draft where you’re looking for someone to contribute in some small way, the Jaguars have found a guy who should help in 2015.

Until then, leaving the carrot of playing this year dangling will only help in his rehab, and the faith they showed in him should create a positive vibe when he does return.
