The Vikings announced agreements with 15 undrafted free agents on Saturday, including Northwestern wide receiver Kain Colter, who could have a place in sports history no matter happens in his NFL career.

Colter had a key role in the efforts to allow Northwestern football players to unionize. The National Labor Relations Board ruled the players had the right to organize in March.

Primarily a quarterback at Northwestern, Colter (5-10, 198) is listed at receiver with the Vikings. He has experience at the position, catching a career-best 43 passes for 466 yards and three TDs in 2011. He worked out at receiver at the NFL Scouting Combine and Senior Bowl.

The Vikings also reached free agent contracts with 14 other rookies: Iowa offensive guard Conor Boffeli, Mississippi offensive tackle Pierce Burton, Villanova defensive end Rakim Cox, Florida International nose tackle Isame Faciane, Ohio wide receiver Donte Foster, Belhaven offensive tackle Matt Hall, Toledo center Zac Kerin, Tennessee State tight end A.C. Leonard, Eastern Illinois wide receiver Erik Lora, Tennessee offensive tackle Antonio Richardson, Northwestern defensive end Tyler Scott, Virginia defensive end Jake Snyder, Fresno State offensive guard Austin Wentworth and Wagner halfback Dominique Williams.
