The Giants announced the signing of five undrafted rookie free agents on Monday and the group of new additions grew to nine on Tuesday.
Among the newly announced members of the club is Ohio State safety Charles Barnett. Barnett was a captain for the Buckeyes last season and made 37 starts over his entire college career, totaling 224 tackles and eight interceptions. With Will Hill’s future clouded by his third suspension is as many years, Barnett will likely be in the mix for a backup role.
The Giants also signed linebacker Dan Fox, who led Notre Dame in tackles last season. Defensive ends Emmanuel Dieke of Georgia Tech and Jordan Stanton of James Madison are the other new additions.
The Giants also waived defensive back Chaz Powell, who joined their practice squad in December.
