Buccaneers make changes to roster and front office

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Atlanta Falcons

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Atlanta Falcons

Kevin C. Cox

The Buccaneers hired Jason Licht as their new general manager early this offseason, but other changes to the front office were put on hold until after the draft.

The draft is done and that means Licht can move forward with putting his team together. Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reports that Jon Robinson has been hired as the team’s director of player personnel. Robinson was the director of college scouting in New England, but his new role will include involvement with scouting at the professional level as well.

Reiss also reports that Eric Stokes will be leaving his job as the director of college scouting for the Bucs to work as an assistant to Dolphins General Manager Dennis Hickey. Hickey worked in Tampa before getting the Miami job this offseason.

The Bucs have also made a change to the roster. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports that the team has released defensive back Anthony Gaitor and signed long snapper Anthony DePaola. Gaitor played 12 games with the Bucs in 2011 and 2012, but tore his ACL in camp last summer and missed the entire season. DePaola will compete with Jeremy Cain for long snapping duties.
