Giants claim Jamaal Johnson-Webb off waivers

The Giants have spent much of the offseason rebuilding their offense after the dismal results of the 2013 season and they added another player to that effort on Wednesday.

They’ve claimed tackle Jamaal Johnson-Webb off of waivers from the Bills, who cut him on Tuesday. Johnson-Webb joins Geoff Schwartz, John Jerry, J.D. Walton, Charles Brown and Weston Richburg as new additions on the offensive line this offseason.

Johnson-Webb entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Cardinals last year, but didn’t make it out of camp with the team. He then spent time on practice squads in Chicago, Minnesota and Buffalo without ever playing in a regular season game.

Given the depth the Giants have tried to create with their moves in free agency and the draft, Johnson-Webb may have a hard time getting into a game this season too but that will sort itself out between now and September.

Will Beatty – Geoff Schwartz – Weston Richburg – John Jerry – Justin Pugh is a damn good OL

They have a lot of bodies, but are they any good??

    Okay !

Beatty has got to recover from both his injury & bad year! Chris Snee was a pro-bowler but seems to be ok so far, Jerry is behind him on the depth chart, so any big body working with Pat Flagerty the best O-line coach could be find?

Zach Martin that is….then LT Martin, LG Schwartz, C Richburg, RG Snee/Jerry, RT Pugh! Now that’s not a bad line to protect Eli!

J.D Walton can win the center job and richburg can be move to guard or vice versa. Snee should have huge bounce back year, not missing OTA’s at all. Schwartz and Pugh can be pro bowlers this year. A healthy Beatty of 2 years ago makes this line outstanding. A injuried mess Beatty of last year makes us rely on guys like Jerry and probably an average to OK line. Either way it will be a lot better then last year which was worst o line I’ve ever seen in NFL

Yeah, Giants should’ve taken a tackle early. Now lets see if Eli has enough time to throw to Odell Beckham Jr.

Hate to break the bad news to you Giants fan, but John Jerry is not even a quality backup Guard! Hopefully one of the many Camp Bodies will step up to complete your OLine. A Rookie Center and J. Jerry could be a troubled interior to say the least.

Decent line with some depth. Could be solid. We shall see. Beckham, Richburg and Williams should all contribute as rookies too. The NFC East is up for grabs. Big Blue!!

Will “Beat me” is a scrub in my opinion. The first adjustment that needs to happen on the O-line is Pugh takes over LT officially. After he has proven he is up to the task in camp of course. Jerry is a 6th man at best. He can work in but not a starter. “Beat me” needs to move on down the line to RT. Richburg, Schwartz , Walton, and Snee will battle it out for the interior spots.

I’d like to see Alper give the guys height and weight. How big is he.The Giants are determined to have a bigger and more physical line this year so unless he’s big and plays with an attitude forget it.
