Texans sign a pair of picks, including Mr. Irrelevant

The Texans have bigger things to attend to, so they can take care of the largely irrelevant stuff first.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Texans have signed a pair of rookies to their first contracts — sixth-rounder Alfred Blue and seventh-rounder Lonnie Ballantine.

Ballantine, a safety from Memphis, was the final pick in the NFL Draft — Mr. Irrelevant. Blue’s a running back from LSU.

The Texans are working through a number of issues at the moment, from the lack of a decent quarterback to veteran wideout Andre Johnson grumbling, so taking care of the boilerplate rookie deals is a momentary concern.

Andre needs to have a little faith in his new staff. I see the Texas going after a kirk cousins or somebody like that. If Andre does leave they’ll probably go to the super bowl lol.
